Bio-aesthetic treatment

Bio-aesthetic treatment In Niewada Clinic
We are proud that NIEWADA CLINIC is the first bio-aesthetic dental clinic in Poland, offering the complete original treatment protocol.
Bio-aesthetics is the minimally invasive treatment formula, focusing on preserving the beauty and proportions of natural teeth. It focuses on the entire masticatory system, not on single tooth problems. The mouth and the teeth are working together, which is why they required to be treated as a whole. In the bio-aesthetic treatment the therapy is focused on the source of problems, not only on the signs and symptoms.
As the bio-aesthetic dentistry addresses the root cause of problems by ensuring the stable position of the jaw joint, we are able to treat teeth to create a smile that is beautiful and lasting. Proper tooth form leads to proper functioning of the entire masticatory system as a natural consequence of beautiful and healthy teeth!
Why Bio-aesthetics?
Did you know that your smile can affect the health, function and longevity of your teeth? The natural form and function of the teeth, bite, muscles and jaw joints, called the masticatory system, is naturally designed to protect the oral cavity from damage. So if your masticatory system is working properly, it doesn’t matter if you’re 25 or 75 – you can always have a beautiful, undamaged smile.
This concept is based on the principle of on optimal masticatory system, in other words, a biologically efficient and stable bite that prevents tooth wear and muscle tension. Studies on adults and elderly patients with no evidence of tooth wear and deterioration of bite function have shown that if the teeth have adequate contact and are in alignment with the natural position of the jaw, dental health can remain stable throughout life.

Dr. Paweł Niewada, DDS PhD
Dr. Niewada is a graduate of the OBI School (Orognatic Bioesthetic Internation, USA, www. Bioesthetics.com). As a certified bio-aesthetic practitioner, Dr. Niewada takes a holistic approach to dental care, always creating personalized treatment plans. He looks for early warning signs and symptoms to help patients avoid the more complex problems associated with biting disorders. He uses the principles of restoring the natural relationships of the jaws, temporomandibular joints, teeth, and spine as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to address a range of dental problems.
After stabilizing natural chewing function using the splints, Dr. Niewada seeks to repair the damaged teeth, balancing the occlusal surfaces to allow for proper contact. A treatment plan may include many recommended procedures to fully restore a smile that is comfortable, naturally functioning and long-lasting. Early recognition of masticatory muscles tension or malocclusion may allow for more effective use of splint therapy. Early treatment can also prevent tooth wear and damage. Dr. Niewada has developed in his clinic a team of specialists, doctors, and dental technicians who work with the philosophy of bio-aesthetics.

Bio-aesthetic treatment – what is it?
Stable, well-functioning joints and oral structures are a system that causes no pain, leads only to limited wear and tear over time, and provides effortless, smooth movements that make daily speaking, as well as chewing, comfortable and easy.
Stabilization of Muscles and Joints
In cases of severe tooth destruction and temporomandibular joint dysfunction, special attention is paid to the balance of the masticatory muscles, the teeth and the mandible. Thanks to the process, which results in the stabilization of temporomandibular joints and proper reconstruction of teeth, symptoms of destruction of the masticatory organ disappear and the patient can enjoy a beautiful smile. All teeth are functionally important. Properly restored front teeth guide the mandible into a stable bite, while the back teeth support that bite.
The treatment formula provides patients with the best of both worlds of aesthetics and function: beautiful, natural smiles and healthy teeth that can last a lifetime.
The basis is to restore the natural position of the jaw, relieving muscle tension that often leads to bite problems, jaw pain, headaches and other symptoms. This is provided by temporomandibular joint stabilization using splint therapy.
What does the bio-aesthetic treatment look like?

The first step in bio-aesthetic treatment is to perform specialized tests that help the dentist to determine the treatment plan and decide if it can be effective and long-lasting. Depending on the situation, we perform x-ray examinations of the temporomandibular joints, facial bones, cervical vertebrae, sinuses and airways. We take pictures of your teeth, face and smile and use special instruments to check the relationship of your jaws to your temporomandibular joints. This information allows us to determine if the patient’s temporomandibular joints are properly aligned and how to correct any chewing disorder.

Next, a bio-aesthetic wax-up (trial wax restoration) is prepared based on impressions or intraoral scans. The design in wax is prepared in specialized software on a computer, then printed with a 3D printer and transferred to the mouth.
M.A.G.O. splint
The principles of bio-aesthetic dentistry are designed to restore the natural position of the jaw, relieving muscle tension that is often associated with bite problems, jaw pain, or headaches. The mandible is set in its proper position in the temporomandibular joints through the use of a custom-made orthosis called a MAGO splint (Maxillary Anterior Guided Orthotic). This is often the first step toward restoring optimal dental health.
The purpose of a splint is to stabilize the joint, similar to how an orthopedic surgeon stabilizes the knee joint after an injury, for example. The MAGO splint is recommended to be worn 24/7 until your symptoms improve and your jaw is able to move and rest naturally. This is a process that your doctor must monitor closely at follow-up visits! Normally, this process takes from a few weeks to 6 months. In difficult cases, splint therapy is longer.
Once joint stabilization is achieved, the specialist recommends further treatment, which may include interdisciplinary treatment including orthodontics and orthognathic surgery, as needed.
What is the Diagnostic Process During Bio-aesthetic Treatment?
MAGO splint diagnostics
helps to find the correct bite position by relaxing the muscles and stabilizing the temporomandibular joints so that they can function comfortably during use. The doctor receives a real picture of the problem with which the patient reported, which eliminates many potential errors already at the planning stage…
Axiographic examination
It offers the possibility to record individual parameters of movements in the temporomandibular joints and transfer them to a computer software. Based on this data, a perfectly matched design for the patient’s teeth is created, in accordance with the patient’s own anatomy…
Computed tomography of the joints
allows a three-dimensional visualization of hard tissues, i.e. the jaw bone, the teeth and the temporomandibular joints. It allows for much more accurate image analysis than, for example, a conventional panoramic x-ray.
Examination of the airways
As teeth grinding and abrasion may be associated with the presence of obstructive breathing disorder, we assess the risk of its occurrence. We send the results of the airway CT scan to one of the best specialized radiological evaluation centers in the United States. In advanced cases, we refer the patient for a specialized polysomnographic examination to assess the severity of the disease and undertake appropriate treatment together with ENT specialists.
Periodontal examination
The examination of the structures supporting the tooth allows us to assess whether the tooth is able to withstand the forces we want to apply to it.

Axiography
In order to be able to bite comfortably, all prosthetic work must be done in a way that is compatible with the patient’s individual joint structure. The temporomandibular joints differ in each of us. So, just as you choose the right shoe size, you also need to record the appropriate measurements of your jaw movements in order to accurately convey this information to the dental technician, who then uses it to adjust the shape of your teeth.
Then we have a guarantee that the prepared “new teeth” e.g. in the form of veneers, crowns or bridges will feel very natural and chewing food will be comfortable.
To record this important data in Niewada Clinic we use the instrument called the axiograph. Any bio-aesthetic treatment is based on the exact joint parameters indicated by this instrument.
Diagnostics in the bio-aesthetic treatment
Bio-aesthetic dentistry is distinguished from other fields by its minimally invasive approach. We make every effort not to interfere with the natural tooth tissue and not to grind the teeth, but only to restore the previously lost anatomical structures, incorporating them into the teeth.
Very aesthetic, beautiful, naturally looking teeth are the final result of bio-aesthetic treatment.

Injection Flow
At NIEWADA CLINIC, we always choose minimally invasive procedures to restore a beautiful and natural smile. Different methods can be used to reconstruct the damaged teeth. The simplest one is the so-called injection technique, or injection flow. This is a way of making bio-aesthetic restorations based on resin materials, or “fillings”. This specially developed method of translating the technician’s design of future teeth into the patient’s mouth gives very good and lasting results. The doctor uses it to rebuild the correct anatomy tooth by tooth, taking care of the smallest details and restoring lost aesthetics and function.
The restoration process involves injecting composite material into the areas where the tooth has been damaged and needs restoration. In order to maintain the high precision of the procedure, the dentist uses specially prepared silicone keys that precisely define the extent of the restoration. Teeth reconstructed using this method perfectly contacts with each other giving a harmonious and balanced bite. Finally the restorations are polished to achieve the effect of shiny teeth. In addition to this technique, bio-aesthetics also uses porcelain-based restorations, such as veneers, inlays, crowns, and bridges, which have excellent aesthetics and durability.

We work with one of the best prosthetic laboratories in the world. The unique precision of Bernhard Egger – a lecturer with very broad experience in dentistry, with whom our clinic cooperates – in recreating the morphology of teeth allows us to precisely and comprehensively plan the restoration process and achieve exceptionally beautiful aesthetic effects of our works.
Dr. Pawel Niewada is the only dentist in Poland to have completed the “Function and Morphology of the Tooth” master training at the Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry in the USA, which treats the restoration of function and morphology in the most sophisticated and medically documented way.
Bioestetyczne wypełnienia i bonding
Zalecamy wykonywanie wypełnień w małych i średnich ubytkach. W przypadku większej utraty tkanek zęba polecamy rozwiązanie typu inlay lub onlay, czyli adhezyjne odbudowy ceramiczne (Bonded Porcelain Restorations).
Wszystko co musisz wiedzieć o Inlaye’u
Porcelanowy Inlay lub onlay to tzw. adhezyjna odbudowa ceramiczna (inaczej BPR – Bonded Porcelain Restoration). To idealne rozwiązanie, kiedy trzeba uzupełnić utraconą tkankę zęba poprzez zastosowanie wypełnienia porcelanowego.
Quality Guarantee
Bio-aesthetic treatment includes so called fillings, bonding, highly aesthetic porcelain restorations, such as veneers, onlays, inlays, crowns, or composite restorations.
We are committed to ensuring that our patients’ future dental restorations are as precise and durable as possible – perfect, in fact.
To achieve this result, we use advanced equipment, the most accurate impression materials and have our own prosthetic laboratory. The use of appropriate technology and precise realization ensures that the designed crown or veneer will last longer.
FAQ
How Is Bioesthetic Treatment Different From Classical Prosthetics?
This highly specialized prosthetic treatment is designed to create a beautiful, natural smile that replicates the morphology of the teeth, ensures proper muscle harmony, and fits perfectly into the patient’s facial features.
Why Is Wax Trial Reconstruction Made?
Each smallest detail is important, so before cementing a prosthetic work in the mouth of the patient we make the so-called mock-up, a bit like tailoring custom clothing. We check whether the proposed solution fits perfectly with the patient’s facial features and make subtle adjustments or include patient’s comments in the design. If the aesthetics got accepted, we can move on to the final restoration.
Why Can't I Get Dental Treatment in the Active Phase of Occlusal Disease?
Assessing the phase of the occlusal disease and temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis is very important. If the disease is in an active phase, the dental treatment will not be durable. The solutions that we could propose will, sooner or later, get rejected by your body. Therefore, during the treatment at Niewada Clinic, we determine the phase of the disease already at the diagnostic stage.
