Prophylaxis and Hygiene – Warsaw – Niewada Clinic

Dental prophylaxis combined with hygiene plays a key role in keeping your teeth healthy and beautiful.  It is the least invasive and least expensive way to take care of your overall oral health. Procedures performed in our clinic involve the removal of dangerous, disease-causing bacteria hiding in tartar and plaque deposits, often impossible to remove by the patient at home.

Professional and regular hygiene is the basic cornerstone of caring for the health of the oral cavity and the whole body.

Prophylaxis and oral hygiene are key elements if you want to enjoy a lifetime of healthy smiles, without periodontitis!

Regular check-ups and preventive care of high quality assure that nothing alarming is threatening our body and we are taking proper care of our teeth hygiene. We make every effort to raise awareness and educate our patients about the dangers of poor oral hygiene that affect the entire body.

At Niewada Clinic we have created a professional dental care program based on the current state of knowledge and many years of experience. Our dental hygienists play an extremely important role. It’s their job to take care of the perfect oral hygiene of our patients.

Analysis as a Basis for Effective Treatment

We measure important indicators to be able to assess your actual oral health and tailor appropriate treatments to your individual needs. All under conditions of utmost sterility.

We pay special attention to the control of sanitation. In our clinic, we prepare a set of tools, scalers and air-polisher nozzles individually for each patient to completely exclude the possibility of infections.

What is a Hygiene Visit at Our Clinic Like?

We take a thorough medical history to find out all the necessary information about your health so that we can safely carry out the procedure.

1

We stain the plaque in order to learn about the patient’s state of hygiene. It is an excellent way to visualise bacterial plaque, very often in places difficult to access.

2

The next stage is the removal of dental deposits with a scaler. Scaling is performed with the use of a delicate scaler which generates ultrasounds and causes the mineralized plaque to break down.

3

The deposits and discolorations are removed using a device called an air-polisher, and the procedure itself is called air-polishing. Fine sand along with water comes out through the nozzle under pressure.  Our experienced hygienist directs the jet towards the surface of the teeth and removes the accumulated deposits in a precise way. We use the best quality EMS equipment, the AIR-FLOW®Master, which is the world’s first device for subgingival prophylaxis. The effect of AIR-FLOW® Master use is the reduction of pocket depths, removal of bacterial biofilm and prevention of periimplantitis. It is a reliable and fast system that provides maximum comfort for the patient.

4

Next, we polish your teeth. For this purpose, we use professional polishes with varying degrees of abrasiveness, which fantastically smooth the structure of the enamel making it difficult for bacteria that form plaque to adhere.

5

At the end of the treatment, we give you a thorough instruction on how to take care of your dental health. Seemingly simple activity, however, is not so easy. We practice and teach our patients how to properly brush their teeth, how to reach hard to reach places and how to use dental floss. Additionally, we recommend oral hygiene products appropriately selected for their condition.

6

If you attend a professional hygiene visit at Niewada Clinic for the first time, you will see that professional prophylaxis and oral hygiene is an important topic for us. We pay special attention to that because it greatly contributes to reducing “periodontitis” and thus maintaining your teeth for life. Therefore, the cycle of hygiene visits initially consists of several meetings at intervals of a few weeks. They serve to reduce bacterial load, eliminate gum inflammation and improve your brushing technique.

FAQ

What ailments can be caused by tartar if it’s not removed regularly?

Tartar, which is a deposit that has not been removed for a long time, undergoes mineralization under the influence of time and saliva and is impossible to be removed by the patient on his/her own.

It causes many unpleasant and very often dangerous ailments such as: bad breath, bleeding, soreness and redness of gums when brushing and flossing and cavities. Over time it leads to periodontitis, i.e. loosening of teeth, destruction of bones and gums.

Cross-Infection - What Is It And How To Protect Yourself From It?

Cross-infection is the transmission of viruses, bacteria and other microorganisms from one Patient to another. Infection occurs in the effect of contact with saliva, blood, or non-disinfected medical instruments used during each hygiene visit in the dental office.

At Niewada Clinic for each Patient we use a verified, perfectly sterile full set of mirrors, forceps and tips for scaler and air-polisher. Thanks to this we are sure that the procedures in our clinic are carried out according to the highest standard of sterility and in a highly aseptic environment.
