Treatment of Children in Niewada Clicnic

We know that parents want to see their children in a relaxed atmosphere, without crying, forceful treatment, whining and missed appointments. You want your children to be taken care of by a specialist and not just by chance. That is why treatment of children at Niewada Clinic is exceptional.

In our clinic paedodontics (treatment of children) is performed by a doctor, who has devoted many years of his work and education in order to professionally help the youngest patients. Because specifi c work with children differs significantly from treatment of adults and requires a proper approach and experience. So that a child is not afraid of treatment in the clinic.

It doesn't hurt with us!

The magic wand or The Wand allows for painless, computer-controlled anaesthesia. We use nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, which eliminates the feeling of fear and anxiety. The child stops being afraid and willingly allows himself or herself to undergo the planned procedure.

It is a very safe and comfortable form of treatment for our youngest patients. Especially in the case of children, we want to be absolutely sure that the procedure will be carried out in a safe manner. Therefore, unlike in most practices, we do not use ready-made gas mixtures. We care about quality and that is why we use a professional machine to constantly adjust and control the doses of the relaxant.

Thanks to this in a minimally invasive way we support the healing process by eliminating the undesirable effects such as nausea, dizziness or vomiting. The concentration is prepared so that it works with the minimum dose that does not burden the child’s organism. Such treatment of children does not cause unnecessary side effects.

At Niewada Clinic we place a strong emphasis on the quality of treatment of children's teeth

Enamel of deciduous teeth is less mineralized and more exposed to decay, which develops much faster compared to permanent teeth.

In Niewada Clinic in treating children we focus on prophylaxis, sealing, varnishing or dietary indications that will protect both milk and later permanent teeth.

The first visit is very important

Already during a child’s first meetings with a dentist we place great emphasis on the right approach, we familiarise our youngest patients with the equipment and teach them good oral hygiene principles, which pay off every day.

Thanks to the application of modern treatment techniques, our young patients do not suffer from dentophobia (fear of the dentist) and willingly come to the clinic.

We know that dental health is undoubtedly based on good habits, which is why we are always happy to invite our youngest patients and their parents for adaptation visits to show them how, thanks to proper prophylaxis at home, they can enjoy a healthy smile for life.

Adaptation visits in our clinic

We organise adaptation visits for the youngest ones, during which they can listen to stories about teeth, make friends with dental equipment and the whole clinic environment. We also give them the opportunity to decide on the colour of the filling or the colour of the fluoride varnish!

Remember that if we take care of the full functionality and health of our children’s teeth in an effective way, we will save them a lot of disappointment in the future and protect them from complicated and often very expensive treatment in adulthood. Properly initiated treatment of children in our clinic will result in a healthy smile in adulthood.

FAQ

When should I start caring for my child's teeth?

The oral health of our children should be taken care of from the very beginning, before the first teeth appear.

Even during the first months the infant’s gums should be cleaned with a sterile gauze pad moistened in lukewarm water, available at any pharmacy, or with a silicone toothbrush worn on a finger.

With the appearance of the first teeth in the mouth of the child, brushing of the first teeth should be introduced into the daily routine. They should be cleaned with toothpaste and a toothbrush dedicated to the child’s age. Toothless gums should still be cleaned with a gauze pad.

When your child reaches the age of 1,5, it is advisable to teach him how to brush his teeth and to control his actions until he is 7 years old.

Which toothpaste should children brush their teeth with?

We should choose toothpastes that are suitable for the age of the child. They contain the right amount of substances that will not have a negative impact on the oral cavity and digestive system of the child.

How do you feed your child properly to keep their teeth healthy?

Above all, we should limit products with a high sugar content and monitor and help the child to take care of his dental hygiene.

The main problems are sweets, porridges with a high sugar content and sweet drinks which parents often give in bottles with a teat. Sugar is an ideal food source for caries bacteria.

As the enamel is less mineralised, milk teeth are more vulnerable to decay. As snacks, children can be given apples and carrots, which have a preventive effect. Thanks to their texture, they clean the teeth of food residues and are also a healthy snack.
